Community Governance Review: Parishes of Chevening/Sevenoaks Weald and Shoreham
Sevenoaks District Council’s Draft Recommendations – Please give us your views by 29 August
Sevenoaks District Council undertook a community governance review on 2nd April 2014 at the request of Chevening and Shoreham Parish Councils to consider the boundary between the parishes of Chevening and Sevenoaks Weald in the vicinity of Bowzell Green and the creation of a new ward of the Parish of Shoreham. The District Council’s draft recommendations
The District Council has now considered the parish councils’ proposals and the representations it has received from interested parties and is recommending the following:
- That the boundary between the parishes of Chevening and Sevenoaks Weald be amended so as to include the whole of Bowzell Green in the Parish of Sevenoaks Weald
- That a Romney Street Ward be created in the Parish of Shoreham
- That the number of parish councillors in the Parish of Shoreham for the Romney Street Ward, the Shoreham Ward and The Well Hill Hundreds Ward be 1,6 and 1 respectively

Next steps in the review
The District Council is inviting the views of interested persons on its draft recommendations by 29th August 2014. Following this deadline, the District Council will consider any submissions at its Governance Committee on 18th September 2014. Final recommendations will be published by the District Council in November 2014. Any changes to be made to parish boundaries or electoral arrangements will come into effect at the next full elections of parish councillors in May 2015.
