Feel the need for Speed Watch?

Residents looking to bring safety to their streets can take part in Sevenoaks District Council’s Speed Watch training in September.

The free training session will take place at 6.30pm on Thursday 26 September at the District Council Offices, Argyle Road, Sevenoaks.

Speed Watch allows those wishing to take a hands-on approach to addressing speeding in their communities to do so, with full training by Kent Police in road safety and the use of speed boards.

The speed boards are available for groups of residents to use, measuring and displaying the speed of vehicles.

So far we have trained 75 residents in the use of speed boards, and this community initiative has been effective in slowing even the most reckless road-users down to the speed limit.

Speed Watch is co-ordinated by Sevenoaks District Council and delivered by Kent Police in conjunction with the Sevenoaks Community Safety Partnership.

To book a place on the course or find out more details, please e-mail communitysafety@sevenoaks.gov.uk, or call 01732 227000 and ask to speak with the Community Safety Partnership.
